The 3.8-liter V6 features Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) and Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT), creating low-end torque and high-end power. To go along with its responsive, free-revving character and throaty rumble, the V6 engine has a high-performance intake and exhaust system for more power at all engine speeds. Best of all, its peak performance is a beefy 348 hp.* Giddyup!
The Ultimate and R-Spec models feature track-tuned spring, damper and stabilizer bar settings that satisfy the most demanding enthusiast. Camber adjustment bolts let drivers make additional suspension tuning changes. But that’s not all. There’s a rear Torsen limited-slip differential that guarantees better control and acceleration out of tight corners. Sticky, staggered fitment performance tires on 19-inch Euroflange dark-graphite-finish alloy wheels. And higher-performance Brembo® brakes, for when you just want to pull over and take it all in.
We scrutinized some of the world’s finest coupes before developing our sport- and track-tuned suspension calibrations. All models feature dual-link MacPherson struts for more precise steering, plus a 5-link multi-link rear suspension for optimal grip over uneven road surfaces and during extreme lateral loads. Even during spirited driving, gas-pressurized shock absorbers assure firm, consistent control.
Enthusiasts know, for true high performance you need Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) and lots of power. Genesis Coupe has both. It’s equipped with a powerful 3.8L V6 that generates 348 hp* and a smooth shifting 8-speed automatic transmission.
The exhaust system with the rear diffuser has dual, asymmetrical chrome exhaust tips, and it’s engineered for low back-pressure performance, giving the 3.8-liter engine a high-revving howl. In addition, large tuned mufflers and a sound generator create a more aggressive engine note.
The front fascia design balances form and function while amping up the Coupe’s aggressive attitude. The air intake opening is large to feed more cool air to the engine. The large grille has been given the blackout treatment. There’s also detail and definition in the hood. Plus integrated fog lights and LED Daytime Running Lights are standard.
The HID Xenon headlights on 3.8 Ultimate models cast bright, white light, enhancing contrast and visibility while reducing eyestrain. A self-leveling feature maintains the lights’ optimal positioning, regardless of the weight of luggage and occupants. And with no physical filament to burn out, HID units last much longer than conventional bulbs.
From the vantage point of the Coupe’s driver seat, there is much to see. The available navigation system, with its 7-inch touchscreen, acts as a one-stop command-and-control center, sharing space on the center stack with a multi-gauge instrument panel. The instrument cluster has electroluminescent gauges that are spot-on accurate and easy on the eyes. Attractive premium stitching enhances the upper dash. The power-adjustable lumbar support, available on the Ultimate model, makes longer seat times pass as quickly as the miles.
If the standard AM/FM/CD player with SiriusXM Satellite Radio* and iPod®/USB and auxiliary input jacks isn’t powerful enough, we’ve got you covered. The available, 360-watt Infinity® audio system with external amplifier, 10 speakers including a subwoofer and HD Radio™ technology, fills the Genesis Coupe with a clean, crisp sound. And steering-wheel-mounted audio controls let you change the station or track without taking your hands off the wheel.
Typically, sport coupes sacrifice interior space for performance. Genesis Coupe bucks tradition with plenty of room for passengers and 10 cubic feet of cargo space to ensure you’ll never have to decide between the snowboards or your friend’s luggage again.
Instead of three rear seats, our engineers used the available space to make it more comfortable for two. The large door openings and a walk-in assist feature on the driver and passenger seats make it easier to get in and out.

Passive safety is further enhanced by six standard airbags, including advanced driver and front passenger airbags. There are also side-impact and side-curtain airbags to make sure you’re protected.
Sooner or later, you’re going to have to get out of the Genesis Coupe. And when you do, distance sensors that are embedded into the rear bumper* make parking as simple as driving. They produce a warning sound for the driver if the car gets too close to any object they detect.
Even the best drivers can do little to avoid rear-end collisions. Genesis Coupe features active front head restraints that move instantaneously forward and up during a rear impact, helping to reduce the effects of potential whiplash. The restraint mechanism uses body weight alone to react in a collision.
