The 3.8-liter V6 features Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) and Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT), creating low-end torque and high-end power.
The only available 8-speed automatic transmission in its class with rev-matching also has a lock-up torque converter, SHIFTRONIC® and paddle shifters. The close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission has been upgraded with carbon synchronizer rings for quicker, smoother and more precise shifts.
It started out as a technique drivers would hone for more precise downshifts and greater performance on the track. Now, when downshifting, the available 8-speed automatic in the Genesis Coupe “blips” the throttle to match the RPM of the gear you are downshifting to.
A stronger frame means better handling and dynamic response, too. The steel chassis gives the suspension a stable platform that keeps you in contact with the road and simultaneously dampens unpleasant vibrations that would otherwise resonate throughout the cabin.
The front fascia design balances form and function while amping up the Coupe’s aggressive attitude. The air intake opening is large to feed more cool air to the engine. The large grille has been given the blackout treatment. There’s also detail and definition in the hood. Plus integrated fog lights and LED Daytime Running Lights are standard.
The exhaust system with the rear diffuser has dual, asymmetrical chrome exhaust tips, and it’s engineered for low back-pressure performance, giving the 3.8-liter engine a high-revving howl. In addition, large tuned mufflers and a sound generator create a more aggressive engine note.
Approach your Genesis Coupe with the standard Proximity Key in your pocket or purse and enjoy the ultimate convenience—unlock or lock your car and start the engine with the push of a button and go. No more fumbling with the key.
Typically, sport coupes sacrifice interior space for performance. Genesis Coupe bucks tradition with plenty of room for passengers and 10 cubic feet of cargo space to ensure you’ll never have to decide between the snowboards or your friend’s luggage again.
From the vantage point of the Coupe’s driver seat, there is much to see. The available navigation system, with its 7-inch touchscreen, acts as a one-stop command-and-control center, sharing space on the center stack with a multi-gauge instrument panel. The instrument cluster has electroluminescent gauges that are spot-on accurate and easy on the eyes. Attractive premium stitching enhances the upper dash. The power-adjustable lumbar support, available on the Ultimate model, makes longer seat times pass as quickly as the miles.
If the standard 6-inch color display audio system with AM/FM/CD player, SiriusXM® Satellite Radio and smartphone/USB and auxiliary input jacks isn’t powerful enough, we’ve got you covered. The available 360-watt Infinity® audio system with external amplifier, 10 speakers including a subwoofer and HD Radio™ technology, fills the Genesis Coupe with a clean, crisp sound. And steering-wheel-mounted audio controls let you change the station or track without taking your hands off the wheel.
The available navigation system, with its 7-inch touchscreen, acts as a one-stop command-and-control center. Use voice recognition or the interactive touchscreen to get directions without being distracted. Or search for nearby businesses like gas stations, ATMs or restaurants using NavTraffic and SiriusXM® Data Services. It also gives you real-time updates on current traffic situations, the weather, or even stocks and sports.

Traditionally, both Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Traction Control System (TCS) work together to help ensure that understeer and oversteer are kept in check in a variety of driving conditions, performing hundreds of calculations per second to reduce wheelspin or skidding. But our driver-selectable 3-stage ESC and TCS also offers you several choices when it comes to personalizing its characteristics and performance.
Even the best drivers can do little to avoid rear-end collisions. Genesis Coupe features active front head restraints that move instantaneously forward and up during a rear impact, helping to reduce the effects of potential whiplash. The restraint mechanism uses body weight alone to react in a collision.
Sooner or later, you’re going to have to get out of the Genesis Coupe. And when you do, distance sensors that are embedded into the rear bumper make parking as simple as driving. They produce a warning sound for the driver if the car gets too close to any object they detect.
